Margate Swimming Club at Canterbury Open |

Margate Swimming Club had 21 swimmers compete at the Canterbury Open Gala against competitors from across the South East of England. The team put in a host of great performances to achieve a total 43 personnel bests. It was even more exciting for two of Margate’s younger swimmers Louis Thomas and Ciaran Claris who were finalists in the butterfly and backstroke events respectively. In their respective age groups, Chelsea Jarman was also a finalist in both the breaststroke and butterfly as was Darryl Scott in the breaststroke and Rhys Goldhawk in the IM. Charlie Eshelby in particular had a fabulous gala, making the final in all five of his events. His tally included gold in the butterfly, two silvers in the individual medley and breaststroke, bronze in the backstroke and a fourth place in the freestyle.
