Margate Swimming Club at East Invicta Championship |

Margate Swimming Club had 31 swimmers qualify to compete at the East Invicta Championships along with swimmers from 9 other clubs across East Kent. There were several great performances with numerous personnel bests and the following individuals walking away with coveted medals: Rhys Goldhawk (15yrs and over) got silver in the 4x100m Individual Medley and the 200m breaststroke and was a finalist in the 4x25m individual medley and 200m backstroke; Bowen Goldhawk’s (9/10 years) swims earned him well deserved silver and bronze medals in the 50m and 200m breaststroke respectively; Chelsea Jarman (13/14 years) won silver in 100m butterfly and was a finalist in the 200m individual medley and 100m breaststroke; Charlie Eshelby (9/10 years) hauled in silvers in both the 4x25m individual medley, 200m backstroke plus bronze in the 50m backstroke and was a finalist in four other events: the 50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke 50m freestyle, 4x50m individual medley; Joe Spear (13/14 years) got bronze in the 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke and was a finalist in the 100m freestyle event; Lily Raven (9/10) was 4th in the 50m backstroke; Megan Lane (11/12 years) and Lewis Lintern (15yrs and over) were also finalists in the 50m and 200m breaststroke events respectively and Kirsten Cox (15yrs and over) was a finalist in the 50m breaststroke. The 9/10 boys relay team (Bowen Goldhawk, Charlie Eshelby, Ciaran Claris and Louis Thomas) pulled out all the stops to get silver medals in both the 4x50m freestyle and 4x50m medley events. 
When all the points for swims were cumulated Chelsea Jarman was the top ranked 13 year old and Charlie Eshelby came 3rd in the 9/10 age group. Ethan Bexley and Ciaran Claris were in the top five 9 year old swimmers and Rhys and Bowen Goldhawk, Lily Raven, Ruby Watson, Kirsten Cox, Lily Whitehead, Darryl Scott, Michael Buckley and Josh Lewis were all in the top 10 in their age groups.
