About

Margate Swimming Club has been established since 1925, with the first lessons being held on
Margate beach. How things have changed since then. It was formed with the main aim to build a swimming school, which could train swimmers of all abilities and ages to a level,
which could give them the opportunity to compete if they wish.

Our Values

Proud to be the original swimming club formed in Thanet, the Club has come a long way from its beginnings when it was established on the beach at Margate.

The Club enjoys a wonderful team of dedicated coaches for members of Level 7 and above, who are split into three groups; Baby Dolphins, Dolphins and Squad providing continual support and encouragement for all. Training sessions are offered four nights a week and there is no waiting list at the present time provided Level 7 has been achieved.

For swimmers from Levels 1 to 6, excellent teaching is provided through provision of swimming lessons on Friday nights at Hartsdown Leisure Centre. As demand for lessons with Margate Swimming Club is high, a waiting list exists at the lower Levels. These lessons offer swimmers the opportunity both to complete their Level and distance badges.

The Club has a wonderful friendly atmosphere and enjoys great parent support. Swimmers are given continual encouragement in all areas of the Club and a free assessment and trail swim is offered should you be interested in joining the Club at Level 7 and above. For further information, please view the club notice board at Hartsdown Leisure Centre or contact Kay Raven on 01843 227920.
