Margate Swimming Club have been presented with new Club banners. The banners, used at recent gala events, have been designed and produced by Wicked Graphics, located on Haine Insdustrial Estate in Ramgate These colourful banners are in the clubs distinctive gold and blue colour scheme and include the Club’s famous Dolphin logo.
Margate swimmers swam very well reaching 17 finals and achieving 20 top 6 places.
In the boys 16 years and over category, Jason Munson achieved Silver in the 50 metre breastroke event, Bronze in the 50 metre backstroke, 4th place in the 50 metre freestyle and 5th place in the 50 metre butterfly events. In the same age category, Chris Short achieved Gold in the 50 metre breastroke, Bronze in the 50 metre butterfly and 6th place in the 50 Metre backstroke events.
In the girls same age category, Amy Jackson achieved Silver in the 50 metre butterfly event and was placed 4th in the 50 metre freestyle event.
Kirsten Cox achieved 6th place in the girls 50 metre freestyle event.
Aston Drew, swimming in the boys 12/13 years age group, achieved Bronze in both the 50 metre freestyle and 50 metre Butterfly events and 4th place in the 50 metre breastroke event. Sophie Morgan took 5th place in the girls 12/13 years 50 metre freestyle.
Lauren Joy took the 4th place in the girls 9 years 50 metre freestyle event.
The Club’s Medley teams swam well in 5 medley events, achieving Silver position in the Mixed Open 200 metre freestyle event, Bronze in the Mixed 13 and under 100 metre freestyle event, 5th place in the Mixed Open 200 metre event and took 6th place in both the Mixed 15 and under 100 metre freestyle and Mixed 13 and under 100 metre events.
Many swimmers achieved personal bests.
